About me & getting to know you

Hello dear friends! If you're here visiting me, perhaps you've been searching for more out of life, feel stuck, or maybe just randomly stopped by. In any case, I'm so glad you did.

My story in brief:

I grew up in rural Northern California, in the heart of the Gold Country. My sister and I enjoyed nature in the Sierra Nevada Mountains growing up, along with scrapes and bruises from our adventures. I found strength and struggle in growing up half Japanese and half Caucasian, both of which I continue to engage with and embrace today. I cultivated love for mystery novels and soccer in high school and attended University of California Berkeley for my undergraduate studies.

UC Berkeley gave me a solid introduction to grit development, although I didn't recognize it as such at the time. I also had the amazing opportunity to study human osteology and work on an excavation on the Giza Plateau in Egypt. I have a special place in my heart for my time there, not least of which because I met my spouse there on the intramural soccer fields.

I went to Touro University California for medical school and got a thorough education in medicine, as well as grit and grace. I cherish the people, patients and invaluable lessons and knowledge I had the privilege to experience in medical school.

I completed my anatomic pathology residency training at UCSF Medical Center, and I had the fortune to not only learn from incredible attending physicians and mentors, but also to make lifelong friends and colleagues along the way.

New York City was my next stop, and I had the privilege to complete my fellowship training in Dermatopathology with extraordinary mentors at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital.

My spouse and I moved back across the country after my fellowship year, and are settled in San Diego where I currently work part-time at UCSD.

I discovered coaching through my own struggles with mid-life, motherhood, achievement, loss, imposter syndrome and perfectionism.

I care deeply about people and their health and well-being. I bring my love, compassion, tenacity and full knowledge and experience both personally and professionally to every coaching session.

I am so thrilled to do and share this work with you.  I hope you'll check out how we can connect below!
